We tracked every first-round trade involving the 2022 NFL draft, from trades that occurred nearly two years ago to ones that occurred the first night of the draft. They each play an integral part in telling the complete story of the NFL draft.
Here are all of the draft-pick deals for Day 1 selections dating to August 2020, when the Seattle Seahawks traded two first-round picks to the New York Jets for Pro Bowl safety Jamal Adams. The second of those picks was this year's No. 10 overall selection.
Their Gotham cohorts, the New York Giants, also had two top-10 picks due in part to a trade they made on the first day of draft last year with the Chicago Bears, which allowed the Bears to select quarterback Justin Fields. Fields isn't the only quarterback who influenced this year's draft order via trade, as trades involving signal-callers Russell Wilson, Deshaun Watson, Trey Lance, Carson Wentz and recent Super Bowl champion Matthew Stafford impacted the opening round.

TB trades No. 27 to JAX

The Jacksonville Jaguars traded to get back into the first round, sending a second-round pick (No. 35), a fourth-round pick (No. 106) and a sixth-round pick (No. 180) to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for the Bucs' first-round pick (No. 27). The Jaguars used the No. 27 pick on Utah linebacker Devin Lloyd.
TEN trades No. 26 to NYJ

After trading receiver A.J. Brown to the Philadelphia Eagles to get the No. 18 pick, the Tennessee Titans traded their second first-round pick (No. 26) and a third-rounder (No. 101) to the New York Jets for a second-round pick (No. 35), a third-round pick (No. 69) and a fifth-round pick (No. 163). The Jets used the No. 26 pick on Florida State defensive end Jermaine Johnson II.
BAL trades No. 23 to BUF for No. 25

The Baltimore Ravens traded down, dealing the No. 23 pick they acquired from the Arizona Cardinals for receiver Marquise Brown to the Buffalo Bills for the Bills' first-rounder (No. 25) and a fourth-rounder (No. 130). The Bills used the No. 23 pick on Florida cornerback Kaiir Elam. The Ravens used the No. 25 pick on Iowa center Tyler Linderbaum.
NE trades No. 21 to KC for No. 29

The Kansas City Chiefs moved up eight slots, trading their first first-round pick (No. 29) along with a third-round pick (No. 94) and a fourth-round pick (No. 121) to the New England Patriots for the No. 21 pick. The Chiefs selected Washington cornerback Trent McDuffie with the No. 21 pick, while the Patriots used the well-traveled No. 29 pick -- which went from San Francisco to Miami to Kansas City before landing in New England -- on Chattanooga guard Cole Strange.
PHI trades No. 18 to TEN for WR A.J. Brown

The Philadelphia Eagles filled their receiver need in a huge way, trading their second first-round pick (No. 18) and a fourth-rounder (No. 101) to the Tennessee Titans for receiver A.J. Brown. Brown was a Pro Bowler for the Titans in 2020 and had 63 receptions for 869 yards and five touchdowns last season. The Titans used the No. 18 pick on Arkansas receiver Treylon Burks.
ARI trades No. 23 to BAL for WR Marquise Brown

The Ravens moved to get back into the first round, sending wide receiver Marquise Brown -- their first-round pick in 2019 -- to the Cardinals for Arizona's first-round pick (No. 23) and a fourth-rounder (No. 100). Brown was the No. 25 pick for the Ravens in 2019 and caught 91 passes for 1,008 yards and six touchdowns for Baltimore last season. The Ravens traded the No. 23 pick to the Bills for the No. 25 pick, with the Bills using the No. 23 pick on Florida cornerback Kaiir Elam and the Ravens using No. 25 on Iowa center Tyler Linderbaum.
HOU trades No. 13 to PHI for No. 15

The Texans traded their second first-round pick (No. 13) to the Philadelphia Eagles for the Eagles' first first-round pick (No. 15) along with a fourth-round pick (No. 124) and two fifth-rounders (Nos. 162 and 166). The Texans originally acquired the No. 13 pick from the Cleveland Browns in the Deshaun Watson trade. The Eagles used the No. 13 pick to draft Georgia defensive tackle Jordan Davis. The Texans used the No. 15 pick on Texas A&M guard Kenyon Green.
MIN trades No. 12 to DET for No. 32

The Detroit Lions made an aggressive move up the board, trading their second first-round pick (No. 32), a second-round pick (No. 34) and a third-round pick (No. 66) to the Minnesota Vikings for the No. 12 pick and a second-round pick (No. 46). The Lions selected Alabama wide receiver Jameson Williams with the No. 12 pick. The Lions originally acquired the No. 32 pick from the Los Angeles Rams in the Matthew Stafford trade last year. The Vikings used the No. 32 pick on Georgia safety Lewis Cine.
WSH trades No. 11 to NO for No. 16

The Washington Commanders traded their first-round pick (No. 11) to the New Orleans Saints for the Saints' first first-round pick (No. 16), a third-rounder (No. 98) and a fourth-rounder (No. 120). The Saints originally acquired the No. 16 pick in a trade with the Philadelphia Eagles, who acquired that pick from the Indianapolis Colts last year in a trade for quarterback Carson Wentz. The Saints selected Ohio State wide receiver Chris Olave with the No. 11 pick. The Commanders used the No. 16 pick on Penn State receiver Jahan Dotson.

The New Orleans Saints made an aggressive trade to grab an extra first-round pick in this year's draft, trading a first (No. 18), third (No. 101) and seventh-round pick (No. 237) in 2022, along with their 2023 first-round pick and 2024 second-round pick, to the Philadelphia Eagles in exchange for two first-round picks in 2022 (Nos. 16 and 19) and a sixth-round selection (No. 194). The Eagles originally acquired the No. 16 pick from the Indianapolis Colts last year in exchange for quarterback Carson Wentz, and it was sent to the Commanders for the No. 11 pick on Thursday. Washington used it on Penn State receiver Jahan Dotson. The Eagles sent No. 18 to the Titans for WR A.J. The Miami Dolphins made another big move for a playmaker, trading five draft picks to the Kansas City Chiefs for big-play receiver Tyreek Hill. The Dolphins sent the Chiefs a first (No. 29), second (No. 50) and fourth-round pick (No. 121) this year and their fourth- and sixth-round picks in 2023. The first-round pick was originally traded to the Dolphins from the San Francisco 49ers last year as part of the Trey Lance trade. The Chiefs traded the No. 29 pick to the Patriots for the No. 21 pick, which they used to select Washington cornerback Trent McDuffie. The No. 29 pick was finally used on Chattanooga guard Cole Strange.
CLE trades No. 13 to HOU

The Cleveland Browns paid a big price to acquire a star quarterback, trading first-round picks in 2022, 2023 and 2024, along with a third-round pick in 2023 and a fourth-round selection in 2024, to the Houston Texans in exchange for quarterback Deshaun Watson and a fifth-round pick in 2024. This year's first-round pick was No. 13 overall. The Texans traded the No. 13 pick to the Eagles, who drafted Georgia defensive tackle Jordan Davis, for the No. 15 pick, who the Texans used on Texas A&M guard Kenyon Green.

The Las Vegas Raiders took a big swing for a playmaker, trading their first (No. 22) and second-round (No. 53) picks in this year's draft to the Green Bay Packers in exchange for All-Pro receiver Davante Adams. The trade gave the Packers two first-round selections (Nos. 22 and 28). The Packers used the No. 22 pick on Georgia linebacker Quay Walker.
DEN trades No. 9 to SEA

The Denver Broncos took a big leap to solve their quarterback dilemma, trading tight end Noah Fant, quarterback Drew Lock, defensive lineman Shelby Harris, first-round picks in 2022 (No. 9) and 2023 and a fifth-round pick (No. 145) in 2022 to the Seahawks in exchange for quarterback Russell Wilson and a fourth-round pick (No. 116) in 2022. The Seahawks used the No. 9 pick on Mississippi State tackle Charles Cross.
CHI trades No. 7 to NYG

The Bears traded up from No. 20 to No. 11 in 2021, giving the Giants the No. 20 pick and a fifth-rounder in 2021 (No. 164) along with a first (No. 7) and fourth-round pick (No. 112) this year. Chicago used the No. 11 pick in 2021 to select quarterback Justin Fields. The Giants picked receiver Kadarius Toney with the No. 20 pick last year. The Giants selected Alabama offensive tackle Evan Neal with the No. 7 pick.
MIA trades No. 15 to PHI

The Dolphins, having traded for the No. 12 pick in 2021 in a deal with the 49ers, sent that No. 12 pick, the No. 123 pick last year and their 2022 first-round pick (No. 15) to the Eagles in exchange for the No. 6 and No. 156 picks in the 2021 draft. The Dolphins selected receiver Jaylen Waddle with the No. 6 pick last year. The Eagles traded the No. 15 pick to the Texans for the No. 13 pick, then drafted Georgia defensive tackle Jordan Davis. The Dolphins sent shock waves across the NFL by trading the No. 3 pick in the 2021 draft to the 49ers in exchange for the No. 12 pick in 2021, a first (No. 29) and third-round pick (No. 102) in 2022 and a first-round pick in 2023. The Dolphins traded this year's first-round pick to the Chiefs for receiver Tyreek Hill. The 49ers used the 2021 pick they received in the trade to draft quarterback Trey Lance. The Chiefs sent the No. 29 pick to the Patriots for the No. 21 pick, which they used to draft Washington cornerback Trent McDuffie. The Patriots used the No. 29 pick on Chattanooga guard Cole Strange.
IND trades No. 16 to PHI

The Colts traded a third-round pick in 2021 and a conditional second-round pick in 2022 to the Eagles for quarterback Carson Wentz. The conditional second-round pick was upgraded to a first-rounder after Wentz played 75% of the Colts' snaps in 2021. The first-round pick (No. 16) was traded to the Saints as part of a multipick deal involving eight selections in the 2022 and 2023 drafts. The pick was traded from the Saints to the Commanders on Thursday, who used it to draft Penn State receiver Jahan Dotson.
LAR trades No. 32 to DET

The Los Angeles Rams paved the way for their Super Bowl LVI championship by trading quarterback Jared Goff, a third-round pick in 2021 and first-round picks in 2022 (No. 32) and 2023 to the Detroit Lions for quarterback Matthew Stafford, who led the Rams to the title last season. The Lions traded the No. 32 pick to the Vikings, then drafted Alabama receiver Jameson Williams, while Minnesota used the No. 32 pick on Georgia safety Lewis Cine.
SEA trades No. 10 to NYJ

The Jets agreed to trade All-Pro safety Jamal Adams to the Seahawks for a package that included first-round draft picks in 2021 and 2022 (No. 10) and a third-round pick in 2021 to New York in exchange for Adams and the Jets' fourth-round pick (No. 109) in 2022. The initial first-rounder ended up being the No. 23 pick in 2021. The Jets traded that pick to the Minnesota Vikings, who selected offensive tackle Christian Darrisaw. The Jets used the No. 10 pick on Ohio State wide receiver Garrett Wilson.
