2023 NFL mock draft: Jordan Reid's early first-round predictions for 31 picks

NFL Draft, NFL, College Football, Houston Texans, Chicago Bears, Seattle Seahawks, Arizona Cardinals, Indianapolis Colts, Detroit Lions, Las Vegas Raiders, Carolina Panthers, Philadelphia Eagles, New York Giants, Baltimore Ravens, Alabama Crimson Tide, Georgia Bulldogs, TCU Horned Frogs, Ohio State Buckeyes, Kentucky Wildcats, Florida Gators

We're entering the final week of the 2022 NFL season. Sure, many teams still have the playoffs ahead, but 18 will be in full prep mode for the 2023 NFL draft by next week. So let's take a quick look at how Round 1 is starting to shape up, including where top quarterbacks might land.

There's a lot left to be determined with the pre-draft process, and there's still one more college football game to be played: Monday's CFP national championship between Georgia and TCU. Four prospects playing in that game make the list below. Others will continue to declare for the draft by January 16th and prepare for the East-West Shrine Bowl (Feb. 2) and Reese's Senior Bowl (Feb. 4). Then, of course, we get the combine workouts at the end of February. Things are certainly becoming clearer.

For the following mock draft of the first round, I used our Football Power Index's projected draft order though Sunday's Week 17 games. Remember, there are only 31 picks since the Miami Dolphins were stripped of their selection after tampering violations. Without further ado, here's my first mock draft of the year, predicting the first round of April's draft.

1. Houston Texans (2-13-1)
