As the summer gets under way, recruiting for the 2015 class will heat up. With that in mind, we took a two-state, 24-school trip to check in on some elite players in Georgia and Florida, including the nation's top two recruits.
Peach State Pit Stops
Class of 2016 offensive tackle Ben Cleveland has added offers from North Carolina, Miami and Tennessee, along with confirming his offer from Alabama. The offer from the Crimson Tide is a big one and joins Georgia and Auburn as the three most impressive thus far, but the 6-foot-7, 315-pounder is in no rush to make a decision. Cleveland doesn't turn 16 until August.
Roquan Smith, No. 32 in the ESPN 300, continues to be at the center of a Georgia-Florida battle, with Auburn, Alabama, Tennessee and others working to get in the top two. The 6-foot-2, 209-pound Smith was wearing Georgia shorts when we met up over the weekend, and the Bulldogs are expected to be tough to beat at the end of the day. Smith's strong relationship with assistant D.J. Durkin has the Gators squarely in the mix.
