QB Asiantii Woulard out at USF

Asiantii Woulard, the nation's No. 1-rated dual-threat quarterback by ESPN, decommitted from South Florida hours after the program fired head coach Skip Holtz on Saturday.

"I am decommitted from USF, keeping options open until things settle but USF is still in the mix," Woulard said on Twitter and later confirmed through text message. "USF is still being considered, but I have to wait and see what happens with (the) staff. I'm not just (going to) go and don't even know the coaches."

The Winter Park (Fla.) High School senior, who was the MVP of the Elite 11 finals over the summer, took an official visit to NC State on Nov. 9 before the Wolfpack fired head coach Tom O'Brien. Over the weekend, NC State announced that Northern Illinois head coach Dave Doeren would fill that position.

Woulard committed to South Florida in February and backed off of his commitment in April before recommitting to the program in June. He chose the Bulls over Maryland, Rutgers, Syracuse, Purdue and Ole Miss.

He said he would like to take more official visits but did not disclose which programs he was interested in.
