Plenty of prospects in N.Y, N.J.

New Jersey seems to be in the midst of a college football recruiting renaissance. The state has always been talented but there seems to be more quality prospects than in the recent past. Tradition-rich schools like Ohio State, Miami, Auburn, Penn State and Alabama have nabbed some of the top prospects, which run the gamut from skill-position players to linemen. Five-star cornerback Eli Woodard (Vorhees, N.J./Eastern), the highest-ranked player in the state, is committed to the Buckeyes. Just behind him is Wayne Hills High School quarterback Kevin Olsen who is committed to Miami. Then, there's a run of highly-rated defensive linemen with multiple offers.

Like New Jersey, New York has a defensive lineman and quarterback towards the top of its rankings. Four-star defensive end Ebenezer Ogundeko (Brooklyn, N.Y./Thomas Jefferson) is the highest-rated prospect. He is undecided. Four-star quarterback Chris Laviano (Hicksville, N.Y./Holy Trinity) is committed to Rutgers and is the No. 12 pocket passer in the nation.
