WR Jordan Hudson, No. 12 football recruit in ESPN 300 Class of 2022, decommits from Oklahoma

ESPN 300 wide receiver Jordan Hudson decommitted from Oklahoma on Monday. The No. 12-ranked recruit overall in the 2022 class had been committed to the Sooners since July 2020 but is now looking to explore other options.

Hudson is a 6-foot-1, 190-pound receiver from Garland (Texas) High School and was the highest ranked player in Oklahoma's class before he decommitted. He had been committed for so long that he hadn't released a top-schools list, but he had offers from Alabama, Auburn, LSU, Miami, Oregon, Tennessee, Texas, Texas A&M and plenty of other big programs.

If there's any positive for the Sooners it's that wide receiver is a position the program has recruited very well over the past few classes. Oklahoma signed four ESPN 300 wide receivers in 2021, including the No. 1 receiver, Mario Williams Jr. out of Plant City, Florida.

The staff still has two ESPN 300 receivers committed in the 2022 class after Hudson's decommitment with Talyn Shettron out of Edmond, Oklahoma, the No. 17 recruit overall, and Luther Burden from Illinois, who is ranked No. 42.

Hudson is a big loss for the class, but having two top-50 receivers still committed is a good consolation, especially with plenty of time left for Oklahoma to fill Hudson's spot.
