After last year's crop of recruits from Oklahoma boasted three of the top 80 players in the nation, there has been a drop in 2013 as the state has only two players among the ESPN 300 in defensive end D.J. Ward (Oklahoma City/Douglass) and athlete Stanvon Taylor (Tulsa, Okla./East Central). Both have committed to Oklahoma.
But what this year's group lacks in star potential it makes up for with depth. The state is littered with 13 three-star prospects and don't be surprised if more get recognized as the season progresses.
There is no standout position this year in the state as eight different positions are represented among the state's top 10 players.
